South West NSW (Pop over 250 000)

South West NSW is also known as the Riverina. This agricultural region is the country's richest due to its flat plains, ideal climate and excellent water supplies for irrigation. Major crops include rice, fruit and wine growing and main service centres are Albury, Goulburn, Griffith, Wagga Wagga. The latter has two important Australian Defence Force establishments and like Albury, is also home to a university campus.
